Abstract

|
Purpose: This study was to identity the relationships between Spiritual Well-being, quality of sleep and ego-integrity between the Participating Elderly and the Non -Participating Elderly in Community Church College.
Method: The data were collected from 250 subjects at 2 churches within B metropolitan city. The instruments used for the study were Spiritual Well-being Scale developed by Sung, Mi Soon, and Quality of Sleep Scale developed by Oh, Song & Kim. ego-integrity scale developed by Jang, Sung Oak,
Results: Mean of Spiritual Well-being was 64.38 1:7.86, Mean of quality of sleep was 44.69 1:5.08 and Mean of ego-integrity was 54.68 1.2.58 in the Participating Elderly. The relationship between Spiritual Well-being and ego-integrity showed a low positive, but significant correlation(r= .325£¬ p= .000). The relationship between quality of sleep and ego-integrity also showed a middle positive correlation(r= .424£¬p= .000) in the Participating Elderly. And Mean of Spiritual Well-being was 59.86 1.11.75, Mean of quality of sleep was 41.45 i.6.49 and Mean of ego-integrity was 53.29 1.3.13 in the Non-Participating Elderly. The relationship between Spiritual Well-being and ego-integrity showed a low positive, but significant correlation(r= .183, p= .039). The relationship between quality of sleep and ego-integrity also showed a middle positive correlation(r= .228£¬p= .010) in the Non-Participating Elderly. Ego-integrity of Participating Elderly was high score more than ego-integrity of the Non-Participating Elderly in Church Health College according to all most characteristics.
Conclusion: It is necessary to develop nursing intervention programs because it can successfully improve ego-integrity Participating the Elderly in Church Health College at Community.
